Guymon Ranks Among Most Affordable Places to Live in Oklahoma

Guymon Ranks Among Most Affordable Places to Live in Oklahoma

Guymon ranks as one of the top five most affordable places to live in Oklahoma according to technology company SmartAsset. Among the top ten Oklahoma communities appearing on the list, Guymon also boasts the highest median income. As the largest town in the 6,000 square mile Oklahoma Panhandle, Guymon is the business and recreational hub of the region.

Home affordability includes much more than simply the price a homebuyer agrees to pay the seller. SmartAsset’s comprehensive evaluation considered closing costs, real estate taxes, homeowners insurance and mortgage rates. The most affordable locations were those where the total average housing cost accounted for the smallest proportion of the median income. This is SmartAsset’s third annual study on the Most Affordable Places in America.

SmartAsset is a financial technology company that uses data to provide free advice on big financial decisions. Topics include home buying, retirement, life insurance, taxes, student loans, investing and more.
