Fire & EMS
Staff & Responsibilities
The Guymon Fire Department consists of two stations with 12 duty personnel, 1 chief, 2 assistant chiefs, a code enforcement officer, and 40 volunteers. We have three engines, four ambulances, two rescue trucks, and two brush trucks, any of which can be sent out at any time. We cover a city of approximately 7.31 square miles. We provide emergency fire response, EMS, and rescue for the City of Guymon and a designated portion of Texas County and have mutual aid agreements with the volunteer fire departments that cover the remainder of the County.

Shifts
The department has three shifts, A, B, and C. Each shift consists of a captain, a lieutenant, and two fire-fighters. The main station houses all of the ambulances, a first out pumper and a reserve pumper, two brush trucks, and two rescue trucks . The captain and two fire-fighters respond to calls from station 1. The shift lieutenant manages all responses from station 2. Each duty shift is 24 hours for round the clock response.
All emergency medical responses are staffed by paramedic level personnel. The department provides Advanced Life Support services.

Enhances 9-1-1 System

The City of Guymon operates an enhanced 9-1-1 system that provides the name and location of the caller. This allows responses to a location in the event the caller is unable to communicate.
