We have a shortage of houses to rent, and if there is any they are way expensive for what you get. The people with houses falling down and have been empty for years banking on family moving back. Even if they pay taxes on the property they should be charged monthly fee for no upkeep and the hazardous of the property. A lot a certain amount of time say (60) days from 1st charge and if not cleaned up, then the city should step in and take over and clean it up at their expense. I think this would get peoples attention, not everyone can afford to buy the $100,000 homes and higher. Some people here are single and limited income, so if some one could offer cheaper nice living that would be nice. Instead of being on a waiting list for months and taking your whole income from your family to live paying rent.
