At the December 9 City Council meeting, Sofia Alvidrez, daughter of Sergio and Amanda Alvidrez was presented a Proclamation by the City Council in recognition of her "Kindest Kid in America" award.
Sofia, a 2nd grade student at Prairie Elementary School, has been named Oklahoma's "Kindest Kid in America" by the Kindest Kid in America organization, an initiative dedicated to promoting kindness and reducing hate and violence in schools and communities nationwide. Sofia was nominated for this award by the staff of Prairie Elementary School and later joined fellow honorees in Washington, D.C., for National Kindness Day on November 13, 2025, representing both Guymon and the State of Oklahoma.
