GUYMON- Stage 3 Water Conservation is still in effect, as well as watering restrictions:
Outdoor lawn irrigation will be restricted to one day per week. Odd numbered addresses may irrigate on Saturday, even addresses may irrigate on Sunday. Watering time will be after 7:00 p.m. and before 11:00 a.m. (each day).
Customers may hand water gardens and ornamentals at any time (not to include grass/turf).
Waste of water as defined by the Guymon Code of Ordinances including non-compliance with emergency restrictions, will be strictly enforced.
Water conservation measures are not intended to eliminate outdoor watering but rather to reduce peak demand during periods when the municipal water system is operating near maximum capacity. Restricting irrigation to designated days and times allows the City’s water production facilities to recover, maintain system pressure, and preserve emergency reserves while continuing to provide reliable service to all residents.
Maintaining adequate reserve capacity is essential to ensuring sufficient water is available for:
Fire suppression and emergency response
Hospitals and other critical facilities
Residential and commercial industrial water service
Emergency situations, including major fires, infrastructure failures and natural disasters
These conservation measures are implemented to safeguard the City’s ability to provide uninterrupted water service and to ensure that adequate water remains available to protect the life, health and safety of our community.
