This project celebrates the people, places, and events that shaped Guymon, from the arrival of the railroad and the founding of our community to the resilience of the Dust Bowl, Pioneer Days, agriculture, and the Guymon we know today. Through historic photographs, stories, and interactive displays, the exhibit preserves an important part of our community's heritage for residents and visitors alike.
Following brief remarks and the ribbon cutting, guests are invited to tour the caboose exhibit and enjoy light refreshments.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate this exciting addition to Centennial Park and recognize the history that continues to make Guymon An American Original.

BURN BAN REMIANS OFF DURING JULY 4TH PERIOD
Monday morning at the Texas County Commissioners Meeting, the discussion of placing a burn ban into effect or keeping it off was one of the topics. In the end with 3 yes votes, the Commissioners decided to keep the Burn Ban off for the remainder of the week which includes July 4th. This is significant as this allows the public and citizens to discharge fireworks on July 4th in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of Americas Independence.
Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley said, “Danger increases when fireworks are involved and our dry conditions are still present even though the Burn Ban is off”. Texas County Fire Departments are on increasing alert and response readiness this week. Be mindful of others, be firework safe, and know your surroundings while celebrating July 4th activities.

Water Usage Update 💧
Yesterday's water demand reached 83.4%. With hotter temperatures driving increased water use across the community, demand can rise quickly.
Outdoor watering restrictions are in effect. Odd/even watering schedules apply. Watering time is after 7:00 PM and before 11:00 AM.
We appreciate everyone doing their part to use water wisely and help manage peak demand during the summer months.

The City of Guymon invites the public to the grand opening of the new caboose exhibit at Centennial Park on Thursday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m.
