A quick remind of the library's Children's Safety Policy:
Children are welcome in the library. The library hopes that children will perceive the library as a fun place. A top library priority is providing a safe environment for all children. However, the primary responsibility for the safety and well-being of children using the library rests with the caregivers (parents, assigned guardians, or chaperones) and not with the library.
Unattended Children
Children must be at least 10 years old to be left unattended at the Library. Younger children must be accompanied by a person 15 years or older. Caregivers are to remain in the same area of the Library as their children.

This new equipment will assist in maintaining a clean and beautiful cemetery to ensure every visit is meaningful. ❤️

New Water Status Graphics Now Live
The City of Guymon has launched a new Water Status graphic system to help residents quickly understand current water demand levels, conservation stages, and outdoor watering guidance at a glance.
These graphics are designed to make water information easier to follow with clear color-coded stages, current demand percentages, and conservation reminders that can be updated as conditions change.
While daily demand may fluctuate, the City of Guymon remains under the July 9, 2024 Water Conservation Proclamation. Because of that proclamation, Stage 2 conservation measures remain in effect until conditions improve or additional action is taken.
Residents may notice days where water demand falls below Stage 2 trigger levels. However, Stage 2 restrictions still apply citywide under the active proclamation.
The new graphics will now appear on the City website, water updates page, and future public notices to provide quicker, more transparent communication regarding Guymon’s water system and conservation efforts.
Your conservation today protects our water tomorrow.

All library staff at the Guymon Public Library are encouraged to pursue their certification. Once a librarian is certified, they need to earn 36 hours of CEUs every four years to renew and level up their certification. The Public Library Academy, classes, and certification are handled and governed by the Continuing Education Board (on which our Director, Blair Henson, serves).
At this time, six of your library staff at the GPL have their Oklahoma library certifications.
Congratulations, Cesar! We can't wait to see what else you will accomplish in the library world!
